Welcome to our new home

Welcome to our new home!  I am so excited to be able to show you the main living space today.  Our house is open concept so the main areas are essentially one big space.  It's so open and airy, I love it! The decor is far from done, but this home is going to take a bit longer to complete this time around because I am really going to take my time in making decisions. So here it is for now.
Lola's get adjusted.  Any tips for calming dogs anxiety in new spaces?
Window treatments are number one on our list of things to do.

Cocktail anyone?
Or how about a little tea?
Notice the giant gap between the tops of the cabinets and our crazy tall ceilings? If you missed this article, read it and let me know what you think I should do up there. Leave it alone or add some decor?  Also, would it be weird to continue the subway tiles all the way to the ceiling?

  5. LOVE LOVE LOVE. Congrats on your gorgeous new home! I am so smitten with your kitchen and the open conceptness. I personally vote no decor on top of the upper cabinets, but I'm a BIG fan of the subway tile to the ceiling idea! xo

  7. it looks SO good. love the white kitchen and your floors are amazing. for dog anxiety maybe try a thundershirt or even a tight fitting tshirt to help her feel a little more secure? also i know my dogs are very motivated by treats so maybe slowly introduce her to the new rooms and give lots of treats to make it a positive experience? good luck and i'm sure she'll settle in soon! :)

  16. OMG!!! COngratulations! It's so beautiful Kristin! Wishing you all the best in your new home. I had the same problem in my new house. The ceilings were very tall....so I actually continued the cabinets all the way to the ceiling. I thought I could use the extra storage space even if I need a 6 ft ladder to get it!
