GUYS!  I need a baby. A little girl specifically. Why? Because I found these shorts at Target.

They are for an 18 month old.

Can't you just picture me in this sweater....

Walking this dog...

While caring a little Kristen in these shorts?  OMG I'm dying.  Off to borrow someones baby.

OH. And in case you are thinking I am a freak who bought these shorts for my one day baby, they went with the gift from yesterdays post.

This weekend was little Bridget's 1st birthday party and I was so happy to be able to give her a gift  I knew she would love.  Every little girl deserves a Lola which is why pretty much every little girl I know gets one for her birthday. The purse included obviously.

Let's all ignore the fact that the real Lola is no longer white, especially compared to the new one.
Do you have any go to children gifts? I love giving something that has an AWWWWWW factor.

Lily Ashwell (Rachel Ashwell's daughter) is on the cover of Elle Living this May and I can not wait to get my hands on a copy!   I have always wondered what her place would look like.  The ultimate Shabby Chic cottage? Or something completely in another direction? It seems Lily is embracing her shabby roots and is rocking what her momma created like nobody else. Have you checked out Lily's new clothing line yet?  It is def a very specific look, but you have to respect someone who knows her voice and runs with it.

If you are in LA this weekend check out her trunk show in Santa Monica.

What are your weekend plans? I am all about my community yard sale this Saturday.  Hopefully I'll have a few treasures to show you come monday!

I typically don't like to show up to places empty handed. Whether it's a house warming, or dinner at a friends house it's nice to be a gracious guest and bring something to say thank you.  As things have been a little tighter around here I'm always on the look out for fabulous and affordable diy gifts. These little succulent plants are it. Especially for spring.
Succulents- $1 each
Pot- $0.79 each
Potting soil- $2.50 for one huge bag
Rocks- $3.50 for one huge bag

These babies are literally around $3 each.

Of course I had to add a little embellishment to make it a little special.

Do you have any go to gifts?

With all the spring cleaning that is happening on the exterior of my house I feel like my poor interior has taken the back seat.  While there isn't much new going on in here, sometimes a little bit of restyling can make things feel fresh.  While sprucing up I noticed one common theme- plenty of empty vases dying to be filled.  Hopefully my garden will be in bloom soon!

What's your take on fake flowers? Tacky of perfectly suitable between blooms?

Happy Monday loves.  This is what my house looked like this weekend.

So excited for my space to be coming together finally!  It's starting to feel like my home is almost complete.

Also, I took part in this awesome giveaway from Jackie Jade.  Go enter for a chance to win a $50 Amazon gift card here.

Fluffy flowers aren't the only thing happening around here.

Pots VIA
This totally just happened.  My favorite part?  The pink flowers of course.

OH, and lets talk about these...

$1 each. How could I not buy 20 of them?
This baby is about 6 inches across.

Are you incorporating succulents into your home this spring?

My name is Kristen and I a have a problem.
Lola is right, I am spending all our money on too many flowers for our garden.  I don't know what has come over me this spring.  I literally can not walk a way from a pretty plant.  My yard does not need one more.  I literally have 8 hydrangea bushes. 8. And you know what's crazy?  I saw a bunch at Lowes yesterday, that were a color I didn't have yet, and I had to fight myself not to buy some more. It's getting out of control.
Iceberg Roses

Can not wait for all these babies to bloom.
This climbing rose vine was $2.50 at Walmart.  It literally was only two little twigs that I thought were dead. Can't wait for her to take over my porch.

New blooms make me so happy.

I try to keep things light and pretty around here, but given yesterdays events at the Boston Marathon it wouldn't feel right not acknowledging them. My heart is heavy and love and prayers go out to everyone affected.

In times like these, the only word I can use to describe my emotion is FEAR.

The kind you can't rationalize, or talk yourself out of.
The kind that is derived from hate, and at the hands of a monster.
The kind of fear that can take over your mind and follows you day to day.
The kind that makes you question mankind.

What kind of world do we live in that we have to fear our daily routines?

I find myself avoiding the television and media.  Not because I want to live in a bubble and pretend things like these do not exist, but because the fear consumes me.  Am I the only one who feels this way? What kind of emotions come to surface in times like these for you?

Let's pretend it's not Monday. Sunday brunch with the family sounds so much better.

(Zinc Cafe, Laguna Beach)

Oh, and finish up with a walk here.

Ok, now get back to work.

Help me.  I can not see a thing.
My Mommy has a mortgage now and would rather spend her money on too many flowers for the garden than getting me groomed.
My roots have never been this bad.
 My pink is fading.

I guess this trendy top knot will have to do for now.
