Ok so at this point I'm sure you guys are sick of hearing about my purple curtains so this is the last window covering post for a while. I promise!
When it came to my curtain rods I was torn. I felt like I couldn't use the same Ikea ones from my apartment because this was my home and I needed something special! Then I felt like WOW something special is really expensive! I wanted something delicate looking that didn't take up to much visual interest, but I didn't want it to look flimsy or cheap. The solution? $14 curtain rods that no one else has--- because I DIY-ed them!
What you need:
Walmart "Mainstays" curtain rod ($6)
Glass knobs ($4 each)
Hot glue/gun
Remove original finials.
Drop in knob.
Hot glue around base.
TA DA!
Check back tomorrow for a peek into my craft studio/office. A first glance upstairs :)

Such a good idea! Love those dip-dyed curtains too.
ReplyDeleteCute idea! I like how the finials echo the crystals in your shandy. It's not easy to find rods I like. This idea is great because you can easily up-cycle something you already own and make it look like it was meant for it's new space all along.
ReplyDeletelove the idea! it adds some sparkle to the top. Lovely Kristen!! and they fit in perfectly.
ReplyDeleteWhat an easy switch but it makes all the difference! Makes the curtains light and airy instead of weighed down!
