ACE.hotel.PALMSPRINGS

I'm back from an amazing weekend in Palm Springs with my best girlfriends and so excited to share with you all the hipster love I experienced the last three days.  This whole week will be dedicated to places I went and things to do in The Dirty D.

First up: Where I stayed
The ACE HOTEL

WHAT TO EXPECT:
HIPSTERS.
 HIPSTER WANNABE's like me,
ULTRA HIPSTER DECOR,
YOUNG 20 SOMETHING HIPSTER PARTY CROWD.
O YEA, AND MORE HIPSTERS.
If you arrive in the mind set of having a fun hipster.for.a.weekend experience then you wont be disappointed.  Don't be scared by the lack of bellman or oversized luxurious bathtubs (At first I was)  hipsters know how to have fun I promise.

THE ROOM:

Whether or not the counter culture scene is really your thing, from a design standpoint, you have to appreciate the attention to detail at the ACE.  They made a choice and saw it through, down to every last detail.
Curtains made of canvas made you feel as if you were in a giant tent.  The wall opposite beds was also covered in canvas.
Adorable soap on a robe hung above the sink.
Love this flush sink.
Once soap fell off rope, it sat on a flat rock instead of a soap dish.
Obsessed with these silver tipped light bulbs in the bathroom.
Oversized light bulbs lit the bedroom.
This hung on our door each morning, because hipsters need their rest.
Seriously wanted to steal this silver poof.  The trashcans matched.
We were able to listen to our ipod through a retro faced alarm clock that sat bedside.
And really what is more fun than a vintage black and white photobooth?
Forget a mini bar, apparently hipsters prefer full sized bottles.
I wish I could have gotten a better picture of the restroom.  White subway tiles cover the floor, ceiling, walls,  and  the inside and outside of the shower. The shower is fully equipped with a rain head and no door.  Great example of serious style in a seriously small space.
Thank God they provide a walking stick.  Totes forgot to pack one.
How amazing are these robes? See what I mean about sticking with the theme?

Gates?  Serious inspiration for my yard.

THE LOBBY:
I don't even know how I describe this instalation in the lobby other than amazing.
omg how hipster is this picture.
THE RESTAURANT: King's Highway

The restaurant in the hotel was an old Denny's that they converted into really good restaurant. It may look like a diner, but its oh so much more.  Seriously the best Chilaquiles ever.
Kind of love this design under the counter.

THE POOL:
O yea, that was pretty cool too... more on that tomorrow .

    1. Thanks Albertina! A hipster is basically anti-mainstream kids. Think like an Urban Outfitters catalogue. The wear lots of vintage and hate anything commercial. The only problem is, it's kind of become trendy to be hipster, which is exactly the opposite of what they want.

  3. Love Palm Springs so much that I'm getting married there next year! Haven't stayed at Ace yet, I love Saguaro for the pool parties & we're getting married at The Alcazar, super cute, more mellow "grandma" friendly boutique hotel. Wasn't sure she would appropriate the hipster croud at Ace. Haha lovely pictures though! Love your blog!

    1. Lol yes. Def would only recommend ACE to a younger hipper demographic. Isn't Palm Springs the best for a short getaway? I also love the Parker and Viceroy. Must check out your recommendations!
