I am a firm believer that wherever you are should feel like home.  Whether you're renting a room, apartment, own a home, or are living somewhere temporarily (like me), your special touches make it yours.

As I told you before, my husband and I are buying a home and are set to move in September.  In the meantime we have set up camp at my parents house. I'm obviously not going to decorate a space that I will only be in for two months, but some of my favorite things had to come with us to make it feel like home.

Here is a peek at my temporary room:

$3 Wall art.  Used from the shower I just threw.

A small wedding picture can travel with us wherever we go.
All of my regular jewelry has been condensed into one pretty jar.

My favorite shoes as decor.

A reminder that has gotten us through this insane short sale.

I couldn't risk my pretty vintage prom dress getting ruined in storage.  Besides she makes my room happy.
My pouf is probably one of my favorite things I own.  Lola would have missed it too.
Don't get too comfy Lola, we will be leaving soon.

What are some of your comforts of home? What would have came with you?

  1. your dog is too cute! I love her pom pom. Your photos are great. I love your vintage dress as decor.....your space is very homey. As long as I had some photographs, and some nice sheets and some cute plates to eat in I would be all set!

  2. I've had to be in a similar situation, and it will just make you love your home that much more! You will have a better appreciation for it :). Love the touches you made.

  3. i definitely agree with you about making it feel like 'home'. especially when you are somewhere temporary, that can be frustrating!

  4. Gotta love the little touches. My home is a work in progress right now. I'm slowly getting all those little personal things together and on display. I have a lot of blank walls right now so the possibilities are endless ....
