So as a blogger I feel a little bit obligated to tell everyone how excited I am for the three day weekend and to upload one of my fav pictures from pinterest that could be hash tagged with Vacay or Summer.

The reality is that I don't have any of the next three days off, and will only be dreaming of jumping into a body of water like the one above. Here's to the laborers who are celebrating the weekend with more Labor! Lol.  Hope everyone else has a little extra fun for me :) See ya Monday!

On the top of my list of things that MUST get done once I move into my new house is EXTERIOR PAINT.  It has to be done.  The exterior is a cute shingle  farmhouse and I so torn on what color to use!  Honest opinions please!  And if you have any suggestions on paint colors let me know.

One thing for sure-- White trim.  The shingles and door are what is still in the air.
The options are:

Powdery gray-blue, Door color suggestions? (Lambert Ranch, Irvine)
Darker Navyish blue, white trim, Not sure about the yellow.  Maybe red?  Or other suggestions? (mylittleapartment.com)
Soft gray shingles, white trim,  I'm thinking a Navy Blue door instead? (Houseofturquoise.com)

What is your favorite?  Any other suggestions for a Shingle Farmhouse?

My mind is spinning with a million ideas.  There are so many things I would love to do to my new space, but of course budget only allows the basics.  We had someone come give us an estimate for crown molding yesterday and in search of some inspiration, yet again I got carried away.  I mean look at these spaces.  BTW the quotes we got were for nothing like these!

This is a Wells Fargo in Orange county that takes my breath away every time!

BTW--- Saw this on close out today while shopping for subway tiles.  Seriously reconsidering my plan.

I could do something like this!

AHHH I'm so indecisive!  This would cost a little bit, but not much more.   What do you think?

So for those of you that asked last week, here is a picture of what my new fireplace looks like.  Bear in mind that I am not living in the house yet, so this is not my decor and the walls will be white.   As soon as you open the front door, this is what you look at.  I really hate it.

So here is the plan right now.

1. Replace the current tile with a small marble subway or herringbone.

2. Rip down the mantle and make something white wood like these:

Basically this would be a dream:

What do you think?

JUST A GIRL  has a new look!  What do ya think?  I worked with Yvette at  Classic Glam Design to customize exactly what I wanted and am so happy with the outcome.  I highly recommend her if you are in the market for a blog "Facelift". She was super on top of things and patient.  Her blog is pretty great too :)

Hope everyone has a great weekend!  I have my sister in laws wedding festivities to look forward to so today I am just going to leave you with this drool worthy photo by Andrew Bordwin.

This will be the first year of MANY that hubby and I will not be taking a vacation.  Well, aside from one weekend in Palm Springs next month.  This is a very sad story. We love to travel and it's looking like our days of wanderlust may be on the back burner for now.  Once we own a home it will sure be a lot harder to save the way we did before. For now I've got pinterest to pin all the places I would like to see as opposed to actually going. I stumbled upon this hotel called Babylonstoren in South Africa and fell in love.

Travel with me on pinterest to see more pictures like these:

One of the first things that must change in my new home is the fireplace.  It is pretty hideous.  Worst part?  It's the first thing you see when you open the front door.  So lets be real, my budget will only allow replacing the ugly tile and adding a mantle, but darn you pinterest, my mind is spinning now.  How can I possibly go on without a showstopping, over the top, massive fireplace?!? Ok, ok, I know none of these are even a possibility but a girl can dream can't she?

I saw this picture and my heart kinda skipped a beat.  There is just something so regal about gold mirrors and there is nothing better than when they are paired with crisp white. Can only imagine how long it probably took to collect all these beauties.

The only thing that would make this better, is crisp white walls.(House beautiful)
